An extensive drilling program successfully identified and confirmed substantial quantities of CSG in coal seams lying at depths of 600 - 800 metres. Pangaea sold these – called the "shallows" - to Origin Energy in 2006. Pangaea retains an interest in the deeper CSG exploration opportunities in ATP 610P, ATP 620P and ATP 648P. Note that these tenements have largely been converted to production leases or "PL's" as shown in the accompanying map.
In 2004, Pangaea was awarded 100% title over CSG exploration tenements ATP 777P and ATP 788P.
In 2009, following a period of intense exploration and a realisation that the discovered resource was beyond its capability to develop, Pangaea again sold its interest in the "shallows" in ATP 788P to Origin Energy. Pangaea retains an interest in the deeper exploration opportunities.
